  2. =============
  3. New CARBON server (Ver 3) written.  This required major rewrite of code to
  4. employ different features.  Some of these changes are as follows :-
  5.  
  6. 1)  The "from" callsign is now shown as the BBS at which the CARBON process
  7. took place.  This is to prevent White Pages attributing an incorrect "home"
  8. BBS to the originating station's callsign in the event that one CARBON 
  9. server feeds another in "daisy chain" configuration.  The callsign of the
  10. originating station is passed within the message and will be correctly
  11. extracted by a subsequent Ver 3 CARBON server.
  12.  
  13. 2)  The acknowledgement message, to the sender, is now addressed differently.
  14.  
  15. 3)  /ACK line is now permitted in CARBON messages, although why one would
  16. want to use one is dubious.
  17.  
  18. 4)  There is now no restriction to the minimum size of message sent to the
  19. server.  Previously incomming messages had to be at least two lines long.
  20.  
  21. 5)  The software has been coded to disregard the To   : and From : lines
  22. which are inserted in forwarded messages from newer FBB BBS software.
  23.  
  24. 6)  An error message will now be generated for the BBS SysOp if CARBON
  25. cannot identify one of it's required files.  This message will be imported
  26. into the BBS as a normal SYSTEM / SYSOP message.
